Nor’easter To Bring Rain, Wind This Weekend: Find Out the Latest Prediction For The Hudson Valley

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Meteorologists are predicting the Hudson Valley will see some rain and wind from a weekend coastal storm, but areas to the east of the region will be hit harder.

The National Weather Service in Albany said it continues to monitor the system.

“Still uncertainties with storm track but confidence is increasing that the highest rainfall amounts & strongest winds remain south/east of Albany,” the National Weather Service said.

It predicts a chance for 48 hour rainfall totals of more than an inch in some areas, with wind gusts over 25 miles per hour this weekend.

In the short term, both today and Thursday are expected to be dry, with sunshine and daytime highs reaching the mid to upper 60s in the Hudson Valley, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a daytime chance of showers around 30 percent, followed by a 40 percent chance at night.

For Saturday and Saturday night, the National Weather Service predicts showers are likely, primarily after 2 p.m., with the chance of precipitation around 60 percent in the southern Hudson Valley, and around 50 percent further inland.

Meteorologists predict conditions will improve Sunday, when the chance of rain is between 40 and 50 percent, followed by clearing.

Looking ahead to Monday, the Hudson Valley region will have sunny skies and highs around 70, according to the National Weather Service.
