Police ID Cyclist Killed In Manhattan Hit-And-Run
Police said the dump truck driver fled after the collision, and the cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
MIDTOWN, NY — Police have identified the cyclist who was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Sept. 28 in Midtown, New York City Police Department officials said.
According to the NYPD, 50-year-old Jana Gwen Halterman was riding an e-bike when she was hit by a dump truck at the corner of 34th Street and Seventh Avenue at 10:51 a.m. on Sept. 28.
Police said both the truck driver and the bicyclist were heading west on 34th Street when the collision happened, throwing Halterman into the street, where she sustained severe injuries.

Police said the dump truck driver fled after the collision, and Halterman, who is from East Harlem, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made yet, police said.
