• Man arrested on assault charges in Maybrook (newportdispatch.com) — A violent domestic assault in nearby Maybrook on Saturday morning led to the arrest of a local man on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, with the Town of Montgomery Ambulance Corps assisting at the scene. Police say the victim was struck with a dumbbell and choked several times before officers intervened. The suspect was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
