The 2025 incident sparked a major manhunt near the Mount Vernon–Bronx border, and the suspect now faces federal robbery and firearms counts carrying lengthy potential prison terms.

New York State Police say the driver faces manslaughter, assault, and other charges after allegedly losing control, striking a guiderail, and colliding with the victim's vehicle. She was arraigned in Putnam County Supreme Court and released pending a September hearing.
