Bo Bichette Agrees To Three-Year Deal With New York Mets: What To Know
A two-time All-Star at shortstop with the Toronto Blue Jays, Bichette is expected to play third base with the Mets.
NEW YORK CITY — The New York Mets have made their first big splash of the MLB offseason — just not for the player fans initially expected.
Less than 24 hours after losing out on outfielder Kyle Tucker, who spurned the Mets to sign a lucrative deal with the reigning defending champions Los Angles Dodgers, the team pivoted to infielder Bo Bichette.
Bichette's deal with the Mets is a $126 million, three-year contract, with opt-outs after the first and second year. The deal was first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan.
