New Virtual Group Offers Trauma-Sensitive Mindful Movement for Nervous System Regulation

New Virtual Group Offers Trauma-Sensitive Mindful Movement for Nervous System Regulation

A new 6-week virtual therapeutic group — Mindful Movement for Nervous System Regulation — is now available for adults seeking greater calm, resilience, and connection between mind and body. Led by licensed psychologist Dr. Ashley Silvera, Psy.D., this trauma-informed series focuses on gentle, invitational movement practices that support nervous system regulation, grounding, and emotional awareness.

Unlike traditional movement or yoga classes that emphasize performance, this group is rooted in Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) principles — an evidence-based, choice-guided approach designed to help participants feel safe, present, and embodied in their own experience.

Who This Group Is For

This group may be a good fit for adults experiencing:

  • Trauma, PTSD, or chronic stress
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Difficulty responding to stress or emotional overwhelm
  • A desire for a body-based therapeutic approach rather than talk-only therapy

What Participants Can Expect

Over the course of six weeks, members will engage in movement and mindfulness exercises that:

  • Foster present-moment awareness and self-regulation
  • Invite gentle attention to physical sensations without pressure or judgment
  • Strengthen the capacity to notice internal cues and stress responses
  • Support grounding and emotional balance in a respectful group setting

No prior yoga or meditation experience is needed — all practices are adaptable and optional, allowing each participant to participate at their own pace.
