Off-Duty NYPD Officer Stabbed During NYC Attempted Robbery

The injured officer is listed in stable condition.

NEW YORK CITY — An off-duty NYPD detective was stabbed multiples during an attempted robbery in the Bronx on Friday.

The incident happened near 3174 Rochambeau Ave. in just before 2 p.m.

The injured officer was taken to Jacobi Hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.

“He is thankfully in stable condition, and I am hoping for his quick and complete recovery,” Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a statement.

“I am confident that the NYPD will identify and apprehend the suspects and that the people responsible will be held to account.”
