ICE Agent Fired 7 Rounds, Shoots Man In Neck In NYC
The man shot was identified by NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

NEW YORK CITY — An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fired seven rounds striking a man in the neck while making an arrest in the Bronx on Thursday.
NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch at a press conference late Thursday night said that the 28-year-old man was struck in the neck and was taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Allen Hospital for treatment.
The man has been identified as Oscar Belgal.

The shooting happened near the corner of West 225th Street and Marble Hill Avenue around 4 p.m.
Belgal was inside his SUV when officers opened fired. A 5-year-old boy, believed to be Belgal's son, was inside the vehicle.

"I am angry tonight," Mayor Zohran Mamdani wrote in a social media post.
"Because today ICE shot a New Yorker. They shot a New Yorker while his five-year-old child was in the car. ICE makes this city less safe. We want them out. Now."
“This individual yesterday decided to not comply with lawful orders, given by federal law enforcement officers, ICE officers, good men and women that are out there every day enforcing immigration laws… he has charges in New York for robbery, grand larceny, theft armed with a deadly weapon.”
Marcos Charles, Executive Associate Director, Enforcement and Removal Operations, defended the agency after the incident.

The NYPD released body-camera footage of the incident on Friday.
The video shows a man in a bright yellow vest carrying a large gun, and presumably Belgal who was shot sitting on the ground and handcuffed.
