NOW PAC Endorses Laura L. Dunn for U.S. Congress in NY-12
Endorsement from the nation's largest grassroots feminist PAC underscores Dunn's leadership in a competitive NY-12 primary

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (April 6, 2026)—NOW PAC, the member-supported political action committee of the National Organization for Women, announced today that it is endorsing award-winning civil rights attorney Laura L. Dunn for U.S. Congress in the crowded NY-12 Democratic primary for Rep. Jerry Nadler’s open seat, which includes such opponents as George Conway and Jack Schlossberg, among others.
“I’m deeply honored to receive my first national endorsement in this Congressional race from the NOW PAC,” says Dunn, a 2017 U.S. Department of Justice Special Courage Award recipient and 2018 TED Fellow with 1.2M views on her TED talk calling for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. “My career as a civil and victims' rights attorney has focused on ensuring gender equity in the United States, as will my efforts in Congress.”
As a nationally recognized advocate for sexual assault survivors, Dunn has been instrumental in expanding the federal civil right known as Title IX to better address campus sexual misconduct and advance LGBTQIA+ student protections. Indeed, Dunn used her personal experience of surviving a campus rape to draft and pass Section 304 of the 2013 Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA) Reauthorization, passed under Presidents Obama and Vice President Biden.

“This election isn’t abstract for women—it’s personal. Our rights are being stripped away day by day, and the answer is simple—elect feminist candidates who won’t back down,” said Kim Villanueva, Chair of the NOW PAC. “Laura L. Dunn knows what matters most to women—our economic security, protecting our healthcare, and ensuring equality. By electing her as Congresswoman from New York’s 12th district, we will protect what matters most to women.”
NOW PAC is the largest grassroots feminist organization in the country, with hundreds of chapters and thousands of supporters, members, and activists in all 50 states and DC. For the past 60 years, NOW’s aggressive grassroots organizing and support for feminist candidates has made a difference in critical elections. It is funded solely by its grassroots membership and selects federal candidates based on their core issues: constitutional equality, ending violence against women, economic justice, LGBTQIA+ justice, racial justice, and reproductive justice.
