Outfielder Cody Bellinger Re-Signs With Yankees On Five-Year Deal, Report Says

Bellinger will get a no-trade clause and a $20 million signing bonus.

NEW YORK CITY — Outfielder Cody Bellinger will be back in the Bronx and is set to re-sign with the New York Yankees on a five-year deal.

The five-year deal worth $162.5 million was first reported by ESPN's Jeff Passan. The deal also includes an opt-out after the second and third year of the contract. Bellinger will get a no-trade clause and a $20 million signing bonus, according to reports.

The Yankees had made it known that Bellinger was their top target this offseason. They had held firm with their offer of 5 years and $160 million but were able to get the deal to the finish line with Bellinger's agent Scott Boras.

Bellinger batted .272 with 29 home runs and an .813 OPS in 152 games last season with the Yankees.

The 31-year-old first broke into the majors with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2017 and won the National League Rookie of the Year Award. Two years later, he won the NL MVP.

In 2020, Bellinger won the World Series with the Dodgers.
