Safe Harbors to launch programming on radio (midhudsonnews.com) — Safe Harbors of the Hudson is launching Safe Harbors Radio, a new station broadcasting from its Broadway studio in downtown Newburgh and featuring shows with the Newburgh Free Library and local artists. You can listen on 102.1 FM on the Safe Harbors campus, online, or via app, with programs highlighting Newburgh culture, music, and community life. The schedule will grow from a monthly roster into more live and diverse offerings.

Bear spotted in City of Newburgh as residents report multiple sightings (news12.com) — Residents in the City of Newburgh have reported several bear sightings, including one spotted in a tree on Montgomery Street and others near Renwick Street by the Newburgh Free Library and Varick Apartments. Officials say young bears often wander through urban areas and urge residents to call 9-1-1 for immediate threats or the DEC for non-emergencies.

New Info: 3 Kids Hit By Jeep In Newburgh, 2 In Critical Condition (wpdh.com) — Three children were struck by a Jeep on Starrow Drive in the Town of Newburgh, with two airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in critical but stable condition. Police are still investigating and asking anyone who saw the crash near Route 300 and Taco Bell to call the Town of Newburgh Police Department with information.

Luckiest Store In New York Just Did It Again (hudsonvalleypost.com) — A $4 million Mega Millions second-prize ticket for the June 9 drawing was sold at Smokes 4 Less on North Plank Road in Newburgh, adding to the shop’s reputation as New York’s “luckiest” lottery store. The winner hasn’t come forward yet and has a year to claim the prize, while the jackpot rolls to an estimated $413 million for the next drawing.
