• LIJMC opens $12.6M outpatient cardiology facility in New Hyde Park (northwell.edu) — A new $12.6 million outpatient cardiology center has opened at 1111 Marcus Avenue in New Hyde Park, bringing expanded heart care and same-day testing much closer to local residents. The LIJ Medical Center facility offers multiple cardiology subspecialties, modern exam and testing rooms, free parking, and a patient-centered design aimed at prevention, wellness, and convenient access for Nassau and Queens communities.
   

• LI Man Pleads Guilty In DWI Hit-And-Run That Killed Custodian: NCDA (patch.com) — A New Hyde Park man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, assault, DWI, and leaving the scene in a 2025 Lake Success hit-and-run that killed a 61-year-old custodian. Prosecutors say he struck the woman at high speed after drinking in Freeport, fled, then returned to the scene, and now faces a potential four- to 12-year prison sentence at his November hearing.
