7-Year-Old Girl Killed After Being Struck By School In Rockland County: Police
The child was killed Wednesday morning in the Town of Ramapo, according to the Ramapo Police Department.

RAMAPO, NY — Tragedy came early in a Rockland County town, following a horrific accident.
A 7-year-old girl was killed after she was struck by a school bus on Blauvelt Road, in Monsey, around 9 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Ramapo police.
The young child from Monsey, was pronounced dead at the scene. The school bus was being operated by a 28-year-old Monsey resident. The vehicle was a full-size yellow school bus operated for Yeshiva Viznitz. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to police,

The driver was screened for alcohol and drug involvement and showed no signs of impairment. An early investigation indicates that speed was not a factor in this crash.
At this time, there are no criminal charges pending against the driver, police said. The incident remains under investigation by the Town of Ramapo Police Department Crash Investigation Unit.
