Southold Man Charged With DWI After Crashing Into Utility Pole: Police
He was treated for injuries sustained in the crash, police say.

NORTH FORK, NY — A Southold man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing into a Greenport utility pole Sunday night, police said.
According to Southold Town police, at about 10:29 p.m., a call came in about a single-vehicle motor vehicle crash involving the utility pole on Main Street in Greenport.
Responding officers identified the driver as Stephen Palermo, 22, and determined that he was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, police said.

Palermo was placed under arrest and transported by the Greenport Fire Department to Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
Following his release from the hospital, Palermo was held for arraignment, police said.
