• Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Playground and Splash Pad in Nyack (rocklandtimes.com) — Central Nyack is getting its first-ever municipal playground and splash pad, right across from the Community Center, with a target opening in summer 2027. Funded with $1 million secured by the late Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski, the project caps several recent upgrades, including a renovated community center and new community garden that are reshaping neighborhood gathering spaces.
   

• The New York October Festivals Where Hundreds Of Vendors Take Over For A Weekend (takingthekids.com) — Nyack's Main Street and Broadway will transform into a massive one-day street fair on Sunday, October 11, with more than 300 exhibitors, live music, and plenty of festival food. Residents can browse handmade art, jewelry, home décor, and early holiday gifts while enjoying the village's riverfront charm. Admission is free, but parking fills quickly, so arriving early or carpooling is recommended.
   

• FBI: 3 New York Men Charged In 2023 Hudson Valley Murder Case (hudsonvalleypost.com) — Two men from Nyack have been federally charged in connection with a 2023 fatal shooting during an alleged drug-related robbery in a Pomona apartment complex parking lot. Investigators say the pair face murder, armed robbery, firearm, and narcotics conspiracy counts, while a third Rockland County man is accused of arranging the deal that preceded the killing.
