He cites new retirement opportunities and says the city’s vacancy committee will vet applicants and recommend his replacement to the council, while he thanks residents for their trust. 
• Ogdensburg lawmakers remain optimistic despite budget deficit forecast (wwnytv.com) — Ogdensburg officials are warning of projected city budget deficits over the next five years but say they’re confident the community can grow its way out of trouble. Councillors point to a $10 million state-backed downtown and waterfront push, marina growth, and tourism as key to boosting revenue, while debating how much more, if any, city services and staffing can be cut.
