• Dramatic Rescue Conducted At New York Fire Tower After Hiker Faints While Drinking At Mountain Summit (unofficialnetworks.com) — Emergency crews from Old Forge and nearby agencies carried out a complex rope rescue after a hiker collapsed in the Rondaxe (Bald Mountain) fire tower, just outside Old Forge. Local fire departments, an Old Forge ambulance, and Town of Webb Police worked together to lower the unconscious patient down steep terrain. The hiker later regained consciousness in the hospital and was reported stable.
