Creating opportunities earns Sonya Kedarnath 2026 GOLD Alumni Award (oswego.edu) — A SUNY Oswego 2019 graduate, Sonya Kedarnath, has been honored with the 2026 GOLD Alumni Award for her work expanding educational opportunities for young people. Recognized by the Oswego Alumni Association, she credits her campus leadership experiences in Oswego for shaping her path. Her efforts now support more than 175 Philadelphia students and families through high school, college, and careers.

Free admission for Richie Evans Remembered feature at Utica-Rome Sunday (syracuse.com) — Race fans should know there’s no action at Oswego Speedway this weekend, while several other New York tracks are running special events. Utica-Rome will finish the Richie Evans Memorial feature Sunday with free admission before a tribute race for promoter Alex Friesen. From Brewerton to Lebanon Valley, multiple ovals are hosting big-money modified and sprint shows.

5. I'm Not Convinced That Lucid Can Stick The Landing (theautopian.com) — Novelis’ aluminum plant in Oswego is finally back online, restarting its hot mill June 8 after being idled since last September by fire damage. That return is critical for both local jobs and Ford, which relies on Oswego-made aluminum to ramp up truck production. Company leaders say restoring operations here is a key step in stabilizing supply.
