• 7 Motorists Busted In Sobriety Checkpoint Over Labor Day Weekend: Police (patch.com) — Drivers in Patchogue faced a late-night sobriety checkpoint at Waverly Plaza over Labor Day weekend, where seven motorists were arrested on impaired driving charges. Suffolk police, state troopers, deputy sheriffs, and MADD volunteers teamed up for the crackdown, screening 465 vehicles and focusing on alcohol- and drug-impaired driving.
