Grant allows Patchogue Fire District to purchase new fire boat (trihamletnews.com) — Patchogue residents will see stronger water-rescue capabilities after a $500,000 state grant funds a new fire boat for the Patchogue Fire District. Officials say the vessel will boost responses on the Great South Bay and nearby waterways, adding protection for local homeowners, boaters, and visitors after years of delays securing the money.
   

2. LI's Only Projected Light Installation, MoCA L.I.ghts, Returning To Patchogue's Downtown (patch.com) — Downtown Patchogue will transform into an open-air light museum when the free MoCA L.I.ghts projection festival returns October 22–26, running nightly from 6 to 11 p.m. Residents can explore large-scale projections, live performances, workshops, and even ride a free trolley connecting all installations, with strong support from local Patchogue cultural partners.
   

3. LI's St. Liberata Festival Rescheduled Due to Nor'Easter: Officials (patch.com) — Patchogue's beloved St. Liberata Italian feast has been pushed to October 3 because of an expected Nor'easter, but organizers promise the same Main Street procession, rides, vendors, and children's activities. The festival will still honor Linda Locantore as Italian-American of the Year and run from noon to 6 p.m. downtown.
   

4. LI HS roundup: Soccer, volleyball, cross country and golf highlights (newsday.com) — Patchogue-Medford golf fans will want to know their team fell to Sachem, 8.5–0.5, despite solid 36s from Ron Hottinger and Parker Masem at Middle Island Country Club. The wider roundup also highlights strong showings from nearby Long Island schools in soccer, volleyball, cross country, and more boys golf action.
