The West Point Chapter of the Company of Military Historians will be on hand to examine visitors' artifacts, share background and possible values, and hold a 1 p.m. meeting before the 2 p.m. program.

2. To Bike or Not to Bike? City BIDs Adieu to Antiquated Law (peekskillherald.com) — Peekskill officials are reworking an old, confusing law that restricts bicycles and in-line skates on sidewalks in the downtown BID, after residents objected to language that seemed to ban bikes from the area altogether. At the same time, the city is weighing strict new rules for e-bikes and scooters, including sidewalk bans, speed limits, and fines.

Ex-NYPD Sergeant Admits Driving Drunk In Fatal Wrong-Way Crash On Taconic In Mount Pleasant: AG (dailyvoice.com) — A former NYPD sergeant has admitted to driving drunk the wrong way on the Taconic in Mount Pleasant in a crash that killed longtime Peekskill resident and Manhattan doorman Manuel Boitel. She pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and manslaughter and faces a four-to-twelve-year state prison sentence at her October hearing.

Trio Busted With Loaded Gun In Peekskill, Jailed: State Police (dailyvoice.com) — State Police say a vehicle stop on Main Street in Peekskill led to the discovery of a loaded handgun and the arrest of three men, including two Peekskill residents. All face felony weapon charges and are due in Peekskill City Court, highlighting an active local criminal case.
