• Pelham Manor Fire Department joins FDNY to put out barge fire beneath the Route 1 bridge to the Bronx on October 27 (pelhamexaminer.com) — Pelham Manor firefighters joined FDNY to battle a barge fire at a Boston Post Road recycling facility on October 27, sending thick black smoke visible from Pelham Memorial High School and across the area. Crews used tower ladders, marine units, and multiple water supplies to control the blaze in about two hours, causing afternoon traffic delays before Pelham Manor units returned to service by 4:30 p.m.
