Sands Point Preserve

Join us for the third year of our Wilderness Survival series! Ideal
 for beginners and seasoned enthusiasts alike, this series is led by 
survival enthusiast Mike Evans. Dive into essential survival skills, 
from emergency preparedness to advanced bushcraft techniques, exploring 
key concepts like the Rule of 3s and the 5 Cs. Perfect for those 
starting their journey or looking to deepen existing skills, these 
workshops offer a platform to learn, share experiences, and connect with
 a community passionate about self-sufficiency and nature.
These workshops are for adults, but children 14+ are welcome with an accompanying adult. Programs are held outdoors, so dress for the weather.&nbsp; Bring sturdy footwear, gloves and&nbsp;a hand towel to each event.Admission (includes parking and all fees): 
Members: $40 per class / $316 for series 
Nonmembers: $45 per class / $362 for series

About the instructor:
Michael A. Evans is the founder and CEO of Synchronicity Coaching 
Inc., a Long Island–based organization dedicated to helping people 
connect mind, body, and community through experiential learning. Under 
the Synchronicity umbrella, Michael has created and led programs across 
multiple disciplines — including Forgotten Skillz (ancestral crafts and 
sustainability), Ninja Née (STEM and science adventures for kids), and 
Vision Martial Arts (child development–based martial arts training).
With a background in coaching, education design, and holistic 
wellness, Michael blends science, history, culture, and hands-on 
exploration to make learning meaningful and accessible for all ages. His
 programs have been featured at libraries, schools, business 
masterminds, and community centers across the country, and emphasize 
creativity, curiosity, and personal growth through real-world discovery

Primitive Firecraft - Making Fire with Friction - at Sands Point Preserve

Ecotherapy, also known as Forest Bathing, or Shinrin-Yoku, is the 
practice of connecting with Nature; of walking with Nature rather than 
through it. Certified guide Linda Lombardo leads&nbsp;monthly sessions of 
this relational practice that lowers cortisol, improves cognitive 
function, boosts your mood and energy, and most of all, grounds you so 
you are better prepared in your daily life to manage whatever might come
 your way.
The focus of Ecotherapy is on connection and relationship, allowing 
the heart to open to the beauty of the natural world, and at the same 
time, understand our belonging in that world.

Join us for a walking tour through history! Our expert docent will 
lead you across the Preserve to discover the history of the buildings 
and grounds, from the Goulds to the Guggenheims and beyond. This tour 
will begin outside Castle Gould, followed by a walk to the freshwater 
pond, and ending in the grand rooms of Hempstead House.
Please note this program is strictly for adults and children 12+. 
This is an energetic walking tour involving uneven terrain, hills, and 
stairs. Close-toed walking shoes are recommended.Rain Date is August 19 
Please make sure you can attend both dates. Refunds will not be given to guests who cannot attend rain dates.

Celebrate the end of summer with an unforgettable outdoor concert on our Great Lawn at our Summer Breeze Blowout with&nbsp;The Everly Set. Bringing the timeless sound of the legendary Everly Brothers to life, <a href="https://theeverlyset.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">The Everly Set</a> captivates audiences with soaring harmonies, exceptional musicianship, and irresistible charm. Featuring acclaimed performers Sean Altman and Jack Skuller,
 the group performs beloved classics that helped define the sound of 
rock and roll, including “Bye Bye Love,” “Wake Up Little Susie,” and 
“All I Have to Do Is Dream.” Their dynamic stage presence and authentic 
harmonies create a nostalgic, feel-good experience that will have 
audiences singing along, dancing, and celebrating summer’s final days.
The concert is rain or shine and will be held either outside on our 
Great Lawn or inside in our Black Box Theater (depending upon the 
weather).
