• Child orchestra remembers its conductor with music at Proctors (dailygazette.com) — A beloved violinist and conductor who once studied at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music was remembered with a joyful, music-filled celebration of life in Schenectady. Former students, colleagues, and bands he played with honored his decades of teaching and performing, while a new memorial scholarship at Shenendehowa High School will support future young musicians.
• Homesteading Exchange & Potluck Gathering slated for June 14 in Norfolk (northcountrynow.com) — Homesteaders and curious beginners can head to Foggy Meadows farm near Norfolk on June 14 for tours, skill-sharing, and a potluck, just about 20 minutes from Potsdam. The Local Living Venture event runs noon to 3 p.m. and will cover gardening, livestock, home projects, and food preservation, with organizers asking attendees to RSVP by email.
