1 Killed, Another Critically Injured After Queens Building Fire: FDNY

The fire seems to have started on the second floor of the building.

QUEENS, NY — One person was killed and another was critically injured after a fire at a Queens apartment building early Monday morning.

The fire broke out at 45-08 40th Street around 2:40 a.m., the FDNY said.

A man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
