Man Dies After Medical Episode In Queens Courthouse (patch.com) — A 20-year-old man in custody at Queens Criminal Court suffered a medical emergency Wednesday evening and later died at Jamaica Hospital despite CPR from corrections staff. Authorities identified him as Luis Alberto Lopez Castillo, who was facing serious charges tied to a Bronx case, while further details about the Queens courthouse incident remain limited.

QPL Queensboro Hill Branch Reopens (qgazette.com) — Queens residents near Queensboro Hill can once again use their local library, now reopened with a new HVAC system, LED lighting and upgraded technology. Officials say the refreshed Main Street branch will offer a more comfortable, modern space for students, families and neighbors to access books, computers and community programs as the new school year gets underway.
   

3. Homeowners protest construction of Interborough Express station in Queens (ny1.com) — Queens homeowners near Grand Avenue and Elmhurst Park are pushing back against the planned Interborough Express station, warning about noise, congestion, and potential loss of homes and trees. While the MTA and governor tout faster commutes for hundreds of thousands, the project remains in design and environmental review with no completion date set yet.
   

4. New 876-Seat High School Opens In Jamaica: What To Know (patch.com) — A brand-new 876-seat high school building has opened at 165-15 88th Avenue in Jamaica, adding much-needed classroom space for Queens students in grades 9 through 12. The $110 million facility houses Queens High School for the Sciences and a robust District 75 program, with specialized classrooms, therapy rooms, arts spaces, and a gym designed to better support diverse learning needs.
   

5. QEDC Hosts 'Building Queens' Development Conference (queensledger.com) — A major development conference in Long Island City just spotlighted more than $62 billion in public and private investment planned across Queens, including 38,000 new homes and five new subway stops. Local leaders and project heads for LaGuardia, Citi Field's Metropolitan Park, Resorts World, and the new soccer stadium discussed timelines, community input, and how these megaprojects could reshape jobs, transit access, and neighborhood life for Queens residents.
