• AG Letitia James: 26 charged with 276 crimes in drug trafficking ring takedown (cbs6albany.com) — Rensselaer County played a direct role in a major state-led drug trafficking takedown that also charged two Rensselaer residents among 26 people accused across multiple counties. Investigators say they seized large quantities of cocaine and heroin laced with fentanyl, plus guns and cash, after a year-long probe involving the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and other agencies. The case is part of New York’s broader push against opioid-related crime.
