Long Island Man Stabbed To Death In Brawl In NYC: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY, NY — A Long Island man was stabbed to death in a brawl in Manhattan after the Dominican Day parade celebrations, early Monday morning, according to reports.

Officers from the New York Police Department responded to a 911 call for an assault on Nagle Avenue in Manhattan at around 12:30 a.m., and upon arrival, Steven Bodnar, 23, of Holbrook, was found with a stab wound to the abdomen, the NYPD said.

A second man was also stabbed in the torso and later taken to New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital, according to the NYPD.

The area of Nagle Avenue where the stabbing took place includes an apartment building, a restaurant, a bar, tax preparation service, and jewelry store.

EMS took Bodnar to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

The stabbing took place during celebrations in the neighborhood following the Dominican Day Parade, but it's not clear if there is a connection, according to the Daily News.

There are no arrests at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing, an NYPD spokesperson said.
