Pedestrian Killed In Selden Crash: Police

The man was walking on Middle Country Road when an SUV struck him, police say.

SELDEN, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a crash in Selden Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

A man was walking in front of 761 Middle Country Road when he was struck by a westbound Mercedes-Benz ML350 around 9:34 p.m, according to Suffolk County police.

The driver, 50, of St. James, was not injured, police said.

The pedestrian, whose name was withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
