RIVERSIDE, NY — A Lake Ronkonkoma man has pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance to a child, aggravated patronizing a minor for prostitution, and other charges for selling drugs to an underage girl and having sexual intercourse with her in exchange for cocaine, Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said.

Luis Gonzalez, 23, was arrested on Nov. 14, 2025, after the girl's family reported him to authorities, according to prosecutors.

Gonzalez is due back in court on Nov. 19, and is expected to be sentenced to four years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of post-release supervision. He will also be required

Tierney said that Gonzalez "targeted" the child, "first with marijuana and vapes and then with cocaine, using her dependence on drugs to exploit her for his own benefit."

“He has now admitted that conduct in open court and will be held accountable. I commend our Narcotics Bureau and our H.E.A.T. Unit, which worked together with the Suffolk County Police Department on this case," he added.

Between January 2023 and September 2025, Gonzalez sold marijuana and vape products to the girl, who was 13 years old when the sales began, prosecutors said.

Gonzalez later offered the victim cocaine for free, and she then started to purchase cocaine from him, according to prosecutors.

When the girl did not have the money to pay, Gonzalez suggested she perform sexual acts with him as payment, prosecutors said, adding that on Sept. 16, 2025, Gonzalez gave the girl cocaine in exchange for sexual intercourse.
