• Shelter Island Police Department blotter: April 29, 2026 (timesreview.com) — Recent Shelter Island police activity included multiple traffic summonses, a deer-related car accident on North Ferry Road, and several reports of suspicious activity and damaged wires around town. Officers and animal control also handled alarm calls, sick or dead wildlife, and ospreys nesting in unsafe spots. EMS responded to medical calls, with two people taken to Southampton Hospital.
