Suffolk Man Dies After Being Struck In Parked Car By Accused Drunk Driver: PD
He died from injuries sustained in the crash, police say.
MIDDLE ISLAND, NY — A man has died after a crash in Middle Island Thursday, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, James Baldassarri, 44, of Holtsville — who was seriously injured after being struck while in a parked car by a man charged with driving while intoxicated on August 27 — has died from his injuries, police said.
Police said the crash took place at 12:05 a.m. on Wilson Drive.

Noah Slusser, 21, of Medford, was driving a 2017 Ford Taurus southbound on Wilson Drive when his vehicle struck a 2025 Toyota parked on the street, police said.
Baldassarri was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, where he later died, police said.

The other occupant of the Toyota, a 27-year-old Middle Island woman, was transported to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Slusser was arrested and charged with driving while Intoxicated and was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check, police said.
