Owl Meet-And-Greet To Take Flight At Provisions In Sag Harbor

SAG HARBOR, NY — If you've ever wanted to get up close and personal with an owl, here's the chance: The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center, located in Hampton Bays, is heading east soon for a meet-and-greet.

But, unlike many celebrity happenings in the Hamptons, the star of this event is not an A-list actor or musician. Instead, guests can visit with two majestic birds of prey.

The meet-and-greet will take place at Provisions, located at 7 Main Street in Sag Harbor, on October 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

During the event, representatives from the Wildlife Rescue Center will introduce visitors to one or two of the Center's educational ambassador owls and share information about the birds, their important role in the local ecosystem and the work being done to protect and rehabilitate injured and orphaned wildlife across the East End.

The event also celebrates the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center's selection as the October beneficiary of the Provisions Bag Program, organizers said.

Throughout the month of October, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of participating bags at Provisions will be donated to the Wildlife Rescue Center, helping support its ongoing efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and orphaned wildlife across the East End.

Community members are encouraged to stop by Provisions throughout October to purchase a bag in support of the Center and join the special owl meet and greet on October 17 to learn more about the organization's work.
