'Cowboy' Cops Expertly Corral 'Maggie' The Maverick Carmel Cow

CARMEL, NY — Police in Putnam were pressed into duty when livestock made turned fugitive in Putnam County.

Saturday morning in Mahopac, officers reported for duty when Maggie, a 700-lb Scottish Highland cow (and new resident of Little Cabin's Farm), decided to go rogue. The bovine adventure began with the cow checking out the neighborhood, eventually turning the morning drive along Route 301 into a cattle drive, before she was eventually corralled by officers using techniques Roy Rogers would be proud of,

"After an udderly impressive run, she was safely roped on Belden Road and returned home to her calf," the Carmel Police Department said in a tongue-in-cheek statement on social media. "No bull. The Carmel Cowboys ride again!"
