Kenny Loggins Documentary to Open LIMEHOF Music Documentary Festival (themovieblog.com) — Stony Brook residents can catch the second annual LIMEHOF Music Documentary Festival at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame from September 25–27, with a Kenny Loggins film opening the event. Over three days, the festival will screen 43 music documentaries from 11 countries, feature a director Q&A, and invite locals to buy tickets and passes online.
   

2. Senate District 1 candidates answer questions at Three Village civic meeting (tbrnewsmedia.com) — State Senate candidates for District 1, which stretches from Stony Brook eastward, laid out sharply different approaches on taxes, health care, immigration enforcement and voting rules at a Three Village Civic Association forum. Both also agreed on priorities like rail electrification, pedestrian safety and cautious green-energy development, giving Stony Brook–area residents a clearer picture of what’s at stake in November.
   

3. Stony Brook University names inaugural chair of new Department of Technology, AI and Society (tbrnewsmedia.com) — Stony Brook University has appointed AI and human-computer interaction expert Donghee Yvette Wohn as the first chair of its new Department of Technology, AI and Society, backed by a $5 million SUNY grant. Based on the Stony Brook campus, the department will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the economy, culture, and daily life, positioning the university as a leader in responsible AI research and education.
   

4. Kenny Loggins reveals the four words he wants on his tombstone (yardbarker.com) — Kenny Loggins’ new documentary will headline the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame’s Music Documentary Film Festival in Stony Brook on September 25, bringing a major music story right into town. The film explores his decades-long career, personal sacrifices and commitment to honesty in songwriting, and the screening will be followed by a discussion with director Dori Berinstein.
   

5. Certified nursing assistant accused of forcibly touching disabled patient at rehab facility in Middle Island (tbrnewsmedia.com) — A disabled woman who reported being inappropriately touched at a Middle Island rehab facility was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for evaluation, and a certified nursing assistant has been arrested. He faces charges including endangering the welfare of a physically disabled person and forcible touching, and Suffolk police are asking any additional potential victims from the Stony Brook area to contact detectives.
