Multi-Vehicle Crash Prompts Caution on Sunbury Lane and Pond Path (thelegaladvocate.com) — Drivers in Stony Brook should avoid the intersection of Sunbury Lane and Pond Path after a multi-vehicle crash around 7:55 a.m. Friday prompted a caution advisory. Emergency crews are on scene, and authorities are urging motorists to seek alternate routes while the area is cleared and more details on injuries and vehicles involved are gathered.
   

2. Police: Teen Arrested for DWI Following Holbrook Crash That Seriously Injured Passenger (longisland.com) — A 19-year-old Stony Brook resident was seriously injured and taken to Stony Brook University Hospital after a single-car crash on the Long Island Expressway early Friday. Police say the 18-year-old Setauket driver was arrested on a DWI charge and also treated at Stony Brook for non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities emphasize that all charges remain accusations at this stage.
   

3. Stony Brook Celebrates Bee Campus USA Designation with New Pollinator Garden (stonybrook.edu) — Stony Brook University is celebrating its Bee Campus USA designation with a new pollinator garden in front of the Student Activities Center, adding another biodiversity-friendly space right in the heart of campus. The native plant garden supports bees and butterflies, doubles as a hands-on learning lab, and invites students, faculty, and staff to join the Bee Campus committee to shape future sustainability projects.
   

4. Stony Brook Drops First Game of Series with Hofstra (stonybrookathletics.com) — Stony Brook softball dropped the opener of its home series against Hofstra, 3–0, but the Seawolves are right back at it with game two scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. Pitcher Jayci Finch notched four strikeouts, while Ella Hayes extended her hitting streak to nine games as Stony Brook looks to even the series.
