This year marks the 25th anniversary of the landmark The Penguin Book of the Sonnet: 500 Years of a Classic Tradition in English. Join its anthologist, poet Phillis Levin, along with Jonathan Galassi, Shane McCrae, Diane Mehta, Jason Schneiderman, and Tom Sleigh for an evening celebrating one of poetry's most enduring lyric forms. Drawing connections between classic sonnets and their own work, the poets will read favorite poems from across the centuries and reflect on the sonnet's continuing vitality, with remarks on the tradition by Jonathan Galassi. Audience questions and sonnet requests will be welcomed, and light refreshments will be served.
