Worker Pinned Under Escalator At Upper East Side Subway Station

Firefighters rescued the worker at the 63rd Street station on Monday.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A construction worker was pinned under an escalator inside a subway station on the Upper East Side on Monday, New York City Fire Department officials told Patch.

According to the FDNY, the worker was fixing the escalator at the 63rd Street F/M/Q subway station when he was pinned under the steps from the waist down at 11:08 a.m.

Fire department officials performed a technical rescue to remove the worker, and medics took the man to NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.

According to the FDNY, the man has non-life-threatening injuries.
