Worker Plunges Down Elevator Shaft At Ultra-Luxury UES Condo: FDNY

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A worker plunged down an elevator shaft inside an ultra-luxury condo building on the Upper East Side Monday morning, FDNY officials said.

According to the FDNY, the call came in at 7:29 a.m. for a worker who fell 40 feet down an elevator shaft at 1122 Madison Ave., between East 83rd Street and East 84th Street.

The FDNY extricated the man and medics rushed him to the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center.

FDNY officials said they did not have information on the patient's condition.

Developed by Legion and Nahla Capital, the building sits one block from Central Park and comprises 26 condo residences spread across 22 floors, in addition to a fitness center.

A condo in the building sold for a whopping $40,500,000 earlier this month.
