Local residents can buy tickets through the Oneida County History Center by October 1, support its exhibits and programs, and celebrate a Central New York artist whose TV character inspired countless kids to draw.

Sitrin Health Care Center cuts ribbon on 75 years serving the Mohawk Valley (uticaod.com) — Just outside Utica, Sitrin Health Care Center in New Hartford marked 75 years of serving Mohawk Valley families with a ribbon-cutting hosted by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce. Leaders also unveiled plans for a $17 million, 40-bed memory care facility to expand services for residents facing Alzheimer's and dementia, addressing a shortage of specialized care in Oneida and Herkimer counties.
   

3. New York Fall Foliage Report Tracks Color Changes (cnynews.com) — Utica is singled out among Central New York spots expected to see some of the most noticeable early fall color changes this weekend, as I LOVE NY's foliage report kicks off the 2026 season. Local leaf-peepers can track weekly updates, interactive maps, and suggested getaways online to time their drives from Utica toward Adirondack and Catskills hotspots as colors intensify.

Contractor arrested on grand larceny charge in Rome (newportdispatch.com) — Oneida County deputies say a Rome homeowner lost $1,500 after paying a contractor who never did the promised work, and investigators have now charged 54-year-old Thomas Locorini of Utica with fourth-degree grand larceny. Utica-area residents hiring contractors may want to be extra cautious about payment terms and documentation as this case moves to Rome City Court.
   

5. From the Editor's Desk: Danfoss Sees Growth Ahead for Hydraulics Business (powermotiontech.com) — A major industrial player, Danfoss Power Solutions, has just opened a new plant in Utica focused on components for data center cooling, tying our city directly into the fast-growing AI and cloud-computing market.
