• New Scotland residents voice opposition to battery storage project (timesunion.com) — A packed New Scotland planning board hearing on a controversial 5‑megawatt battery storage proposal had to be moved to New Salem Fire Department Station 1 in Voorheesville after bees disrupted town hall. More than 150 residents raised safety and environmental concerns, while experts and the developer argued the Tesla Megapack system would support the regional power grid. Public comments remain open until the board’s September meeting.
