• Authorities Investigating Group of Men Illegally Opening Wantagh Manhole Cover, Entering Sewer (longisland.com) — Authorities are looking into why five unidentified men pried open a manhole at Wantagh Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue around 1 a.m. Thursday and climbed into the sewer before disappearing. Nassau police and the Wantagh Fire Department responded but found no one underground, echoing similar mysterious sewer entries recently reported in New York City boroughs. Officials warn that entering manholes is illegal and extremely dangerous.
