• Man arrested after failing sunrise field sobriety tests (midhudsonnews.com) — A 57-year-old Wappingers Falls man faces felony DWI charges after state troopers say he rear-ended another vehicle on Myers Corners Road in Wappinger while they were trying to pull him over early Monday morning. Police report he failed field sobriety tests and later registered a 0.28% blood alcohol level, more than three times the legal limit. He’s due in Town of Wappinger Court on July 7.
   

• Man sentenced to prison for killing in-laws (VIDEO) (midhudsonnews.com) — A man has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for killing his in-laws and their dog in a January 2025 shooting and arson at their Marlorville Road home in Wappinger. Prosecutors called the murders intentional and premeditated, while the defense cited his mental health and decision to plead guilty to spare a trial. The case has deeply affected families and neighbors across southern Dutchess, including Wappingers Falls residents.
