• Big Boy ‘Railgate' draws in hundreds for historic trip (weny.com) — Hundreds of residents packed VFW Post 8104 in Waverly on Thursday to “Railgate” as Union Pacific’s historic Big Boy No. 4014 steam locomotive rolled through town on its national tour. Despite heavy rain, families and veterans gathered for what organizers called a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see the world’s largest operating steam engine before it continues on to other East Coast stops.
   

• Waverly man sentenced for drug related crimes, DUI (mytwintiers.com) — A 45-year-old Waverly man has been sentenced to 11 months to seven years in state prison after DUI and methamphetamine-related convictions stemming from arrests in Ulster and Athens townships in Pennsylvania.
