• Rescued sea turtle named Pancake swims to hot hangout for young turtles (popsci.com) — A rescued Kemp’s ridley sea turtle named Pancake spent months recovering at the Atlantic Marine Conservation Society’s triage facility in Westhampton Beach before being released at Coney Island in July. Now fitted with a satellite tag, Pancake is exploring Long Island’s South Shore Estuary Reserve and nearby waters, giving scientists new insight into how young endangered turtles use local bays for food and shelter.
