May 17 Walk Set to Raise Money for East End Cancer Care

The Riverhead walk will raise money for Peconic Bay Medical Center's cancer services programs.

Each year, thousands of people unite across New York and Connecticut to support the Northwell Walk to Raise Health, raising crucial funds for hospital programs and services in their communities.

This year’s walk is set for May 17th across the health system’s catchment area.

The Walk is open to participants of all ages. Everyone 13 years old and over can self-register by making a $20 donation.

Those funds will count toward your fundraising total and will be your first step toward earning fundraising rewards.

What your funds support: Funds from the Walk will support Peconic Bay Medical Center’s cancer services programs and breast health programs, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, has the chance to receive timely diagnosis and life-saving care before, during and after their cancer diagnosis.

Location: Jones Beach State Park, Field 1, Wantagh, NY
Medical Center: Cohen Children’s Medical Center and the Katz Institute for Women’s Health
What your funds support: Your funds support programs at Cohen Children’s Medical Center that will improve children’s health and support initiatives to improve women’s health at the Katz Institute for Women's Health, including pelvic health, metabolic and autoimmune, and midlife and menopause care.

What your funds support: Your support will help expand personalized cancer care programs at the Whittingham Cancer Center, including adding new services and resources for neighbors facing a cancer diagnosis and treatment.

What your funds support: Your funds will support the state-of-the-art Florina Cancer Center and the Brian Halpin Pediatric Cancer Center, a kid-friendly space where the smallest patients will receive expert care in a dedicated space just for them.

Northwell Walk to Raise Health at Westchester

Location: Phelps Hospital, Sleepy Hollow, NY
Medical center: Northern Westchester Hospital and Phelps Hospital
What your funds support: The Northern Westchester Hospital Integrative Health Department which supports team members’ wellness through holistic modalities to reduce stress and prevent burnout.

Funds will also support Phelps Hospital's Westchester Community Paramedicine Program to expand access to care for homebound seniors and other vulnerable community members, as well as the Thomas E. and Alice Marie Hales Caregivers Center, which provides support and resources to help ease the stress of caregiving.

On Walk Day, participants will enjoy:
