• DOT to launch traffic study after years of crashes at notorious West Babylon intersection (news12.com) — A West Islip man driving an MTA truck was involved in an early-morning crash at the Route 109 and Herzel Boulevard intersection in West Babylon, though no one was hurt. After this and several serious collisions in recent years, state transportation officials are launching a traffic study to review crash data and safety conditions at the troubled spot.
