Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival Returns Next Month

BROOKLYN, NY — The 7th annual Brooklyn SciFi Film Festival returns Oct. 5–11, featuring more than 200 science fiction films from 34 countries during a weeklong celebration of sci-fi storytelling and filmmaking.

The festival will feature several in-person programs across Brooklyn. On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Film Noir Cinema will host Best of Brooklyn Night from 7 to 10 p.m., featuring 11 sci-fi short films from New York City filmmakers.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, Nitehawk Cinema – Prospect Park will present a jury-selected program of 12 short sci-fi films from around the world from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, Stuart Cinema will host Friday Night Frights from 7 to 9 p.m., featuring seven sci-fi short horror films curated by the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

The festival will also celebrate the 60th anniversary of Star Trek on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Industry City in Sunset Park. The event will feature themed entertainment, six fan films and comics and collectibles from St. Mark’s Comics.
