• You can drive right on the beach in these coastal destinations (sanluisobispo.com) — Carolina Beach drivers can still access the sand at Freeman Park’s north end with a four-wheel-drive vehicle and a daily pass costing $30–$50, depending on the season. However, camping and access to the park’s far northern section are currently restricted because of erosion and high tides, so plan your beach driving and fishing trips accordingly.
