• ‘Save money in the long run': Carolina Beach buys land for future fire department expansion (wect.com) — Carolina Beach is buying property next to its fire station for $475,000 to allow a future expansion of fire services as the town grows. Leaders are also investing in Bridge Barrier Road facilities and nine boardwalk-area parcels reserved for recreation, moves they say will cost money now but save significantly in the long run.

• Island Women to take over Fancy Pants Croquet Soirée in Carolina Beach (wwaytv3.com) — A beloved Carolina Beach tradition, the Fancy Pants Croquet Soirée, is staying local as Island Women takes over the fundraiser from the Carolina Beach Mural Project.
