Commissioners questioned the firm about conflicts of interest, meeting attendance, and how it would advise the town on complex coastal and legal issues that affect local decisions.

• Brunswick County issues water conservation alert amid drought, rising temperatures (wwaytv3.com) — Holden Beach residents are being asked to cut back on water use under a Stage 1 Water Conservation Alert that also covers other Brunswick County beach towns. The county wants you to avoid lawn irrigation from 5–11 a.m., follow an odd-even watering schedule, and adopt simple conservation steps like shorter showers and limiting lawn watering to about an inch per week.
