• National Register Adds 24 North Carolina Historic Places (nc.gov) — A historic church just outside Iron Station has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, putting our community on a statewide preservation map. The state announced 24 new North Carolina listings overall, which can qualify owners for rehabilitation tax credits and boost heritage tourism. Locals can read full nomination details and see photos through the DNCR website.
